Q: What type of insurance program is the Sentry Student Security Plan?
A: The Sentry Plan is a typical 'scheduled benefit' student insurance plan. Charges are covered according to what category they fit into (i.e. Hospital, surgery, Doctor's office visit). When Sentry has paid out the Basic Plan Maximum Benefit, the Major Medical Plan starts paying at 80%.  [Back To Top]

Q: Is there a deductible?

Q: Do I pay the Doctor's office up-front?
A: Most Doctor's offices will expect you to pay up front for their services. Sentry Insurance will reimburse you for covered charges. You need to complete a claim form in full for each Accident or Sickness.  Checks for benefits will automatically be sent to your medical provider unless you submit a signed statement requesting that payment be made to someone else.  [Back To Top]

Q: What will I receive from you when I enroll? When will I receive it?
A: On the day we receive your completed application and check for the correct premium, we will send you a letter of confirmation and an Outline/Certificate of Coverage. The Outline/Certificate also has a claim form and an ID card.  [Back To Top]

Q: Can I have this insurance over the summer when I am not in school? What if I leave school?
A: Yes. The attendance requirement will be waived for a four month period if immediately following a covered four month period. This means that you may maintain your coverage during the summer or any other four month absence. Students attending schools in Arizona, Nevada and Utah should call for details.  [Back To Top]

Q: What is the difference between Plan I and Plan II?
A: The difference between Plan I and Plan II is the amount paid by Sentry Insurance in the event of a claim. For example, Plan I pays $200 per day for Hospital Room & Board. Whereas, Plan II pays $400 per day for Hospital Room & Board. The Total Maximum Benefit for each Accident or each Sickness under Plan I is $10,000, under Plan II it is $50,000. The premium rates are also different.  [Back To Top]
